Replace Suite

The Replace Suite provides advanced tools for replacing, updating, and swapping components within Inventor assemblies. It enables users to efficiently substitute components, update nested structures, and perform bulk replacements or swaps, supporting both individual and nested operations. These commands streamline the process of managing design changes, maintaining assembly integrity, and optimizing component organization, making it easier to adapt assemblies to evolving project requirements.

Replace New

Overview

Replace a component and nest the new component within another component or subassembly.

Details

Substitutes a selected component with a new one and places it inside a specified parent or subassembly. This is useful for updating nested structures while preserving assembly hierarchy.

Replace New 1

Overview

Replace a component with a new instance in the assembly.

Details

Replaces the selected component with a new part or subassembly, maintaining its position and constraints. Use this for quick updates to individual components.

Clone and Replace

Overview

Clone and Replace overwrites a component’s contents while keeping its name and parameters.

Details

Clone and Replace updates a component by copying another’s geometry and features into it, while keeping its original name and shared parameters.

Replace

Overview

Replace a selected component in the assembly.

Details

Substitutes the chosen component with another, preserving its location and relationships. Use this to swap out parts as design requirements change.

Replace All

Overview

Replace all instances of a component throughout the assembly.

Details

Performs a bulk replacement of every occurrence of the selected component, ensuring consistency across the entire assembly. This is useful for global updates or standardization.

Replace All Nested

Overview

Replace all instances of a component, including those nested within subassemblies.

Details

Extends bulk replacement to all nested components, ensuring that even deeply embedded parts are updated. Use this for comprehensive assembly modifications.

Swap

Overview

Swap two components within the assembly.

Details

Exchanges the positions and relationships of two selected components. This command is useful for reorganizing assemblies or testing alternative configurations.
